YouTube is a PR9 website and the world’s leading video resource with an Alexa rank of 3. Unfortunately, the URLs in video descriptions are nofollow links, despite common beliefs that they are. There is no need to panic, YouTube is still an important element in dofollow Social Bookmarking. All you have to do is add your website URL to your profile and follow YouTube’s guidelines to have them rank well. This blog post explores how you can do that in 5 easy steps.
Step 1:
Sign up for a YouTube account. If you have a Gmail account, you can use the same account for YouTube. Google has synced all Google products under one umbrella.
Step 2:
All dofollow links on YouTube must be verified in Google Webmaster Tools. Click here to verify your account with Google Webmaster Tools. You must use the same email that you used to create the YouTube account.
Step 3:
Once that is done, go to: http://www.youtube.com/verify. You will be prompted to provide you’re a phone number where Google can reach you. Google will send you a verification code via text and you will have to reveal the code in the verification box before the process is complete.
Step 4:
Login to your YouTube account and click on Advanced Channel Settings.
Step 5:
Go to the associated website section and add your website/blog in the box. Tumblr and domain names that have WordPress in them are automatically DoFollow links. Click here for more information about setting up an Associated Website annotation.
